About SA Redhen Promotions
Our Story
Grant McDougall the owner of 2 1955/60 South Australian Railways (SAR) built Redhens 311 & 402, grew up in
Gawler West South Australia.
Our Mission
SA Redhen Promotions Mission is to return SAR built Redhens 311 & 402, back home to South Australia from Victoria's South Gippsland.
Once back, both 311 & 402 will under go restorations to bring both back up to an operating standard.
SA Redhen Promotions, Mission is to restore historic Railways for current and future Generations.

SAR Redhen 402 on the move

SAR Redhen 402 was moved to the holding yard and was then soon after with 311 prepared for transport to private property located in Korumburra, South Gippsland.

Adelaide's Today Tonight aired an article on the condition of the Barossa Railway Infrastructure that was once at an Operating Standard, until the State Governments Leased ALL the State Owned Asset (owned by the People of South Australia) Regional Railway Infrastructure to GWA that neglected the Lease Agreement and was proudly over seen by both sides of State Governments since 1997 - current. With the planed use to revitalize the Barossa Railway Line.
With the use of SAR Redhen 401 and 311.

Shane Blitz, in the drivers seat of SAR Redhen 402, Korumburra South Gippsland Victoria. Shane, was a Driver/Trainer at the former South Gippsland Railway Society. Shane Blitz was the first contact in relation to the Redhens and Shane has been with the project all the way from also viewing the Redhens and well Starting both 402 and 311 for the
first time in 5 - 6 years.
